Ministry Web Presence

Washington Conference of Seventh-day Adventists encourages churches and schools to have an active web presence. Some conferences require churches and schools to use a particular web site provider; Washington Conference does not. We feel it is more important to have an active web presence, rather than to use a particular service.

Our churches and schools work with two main providers:

Adventist Church Connect/Adventist School Connect is offered through the North American Division. This is a fairly easy site to set up and manage and is very user friendly. The Washington Conference web site (www.washingtonconference.org) is hosted by Adventist Church Connect. The basic site and most features are free including free site design templates to choose from and technical support. Some modules—such as online PayPal registration, podcasting and videocasting—have small monthly fees. This site supports the Adventist Giving service where members can return their tithe and give their offering online using a credit card or an electronic check. Adventist Giving must be signed up for separately.

netAdventist.org (aka Tagnet) is offered through the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. netAdventist recently released their 3.0 platform making their software much more user-friendly. Washington Conference has a “campaign” web site through netAdventist at www.adventistneighbors.org. This site is also provided for free, but fees are attached to technical support. Free design templates are available, or custom designs can be provided for a fee. This site can also integrate Adventist Giving.

Independent provider: Churches and schools also have the option of selecting an independent web site provider. The church/school is responsible for all web site development, hosting, design and implementation fees.
