Equipping and Mobilizing the Laity
The Personal Ministries Department assists the pastors of the Washington Conference in equipping and mobilizing the laity to perform the work of ministry that God has called them to do in sharing the Three Angel’s Messages with love. This objective involves:
The Lay Bible Minister Program
For those who have demonstrated a calling to Bible work by effectively working with people interested in knowing more about God in their communities. An annual training seminar is held each year to sharpen soul-winning skills.
Adventist Prison Ministry—Washington
Adventist Prison Ministries (APM) Washington coordinates the volunteers reaching out to inmates housed in correctional facilities throughout Western Washington. Two fellowship meetings are held each year for leaders to network and coordinate their efforts. There are 12 ministry groups (supported by 15 churches) serving in seven institutions throughout the conference.
Floyd Marshall, Coordinator; James Hearns, President; Shirley Marshall, Secretary/Treasurer; and Charlie Meigs, Chaplain
Personal Ministries Leadership Conference
An annual leadership conference is held to provide simple hand-on training and inspiration for anyone interested in reaching out to their neighbors and friends with the good news of Christ.
