A Commitment to Healthy Living

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is committed to encouraging people to follow good habits to enjoy life to the fullest through good health. The Adventist Church operates a number of hospitals and clinics including Loma Linda University Hospital in California (as recently featured in The Adventists, a documentary by filmmaker Martin Doblmeier).

Services We Provide
The Health Ministries department provides the following services to the members, leaders, and churches of the Washington Conference:

Community Health Screening Van: This is a great church outreach. Churches can rent the Community Health Screening Van for a day. We offer cholesterol and glucose tests, blood pressure checks, and other health assessments. The health tests are free, or at very low cost, to the public.

Health Awareness Presentations: We can help your church organize a Health Seminar or Vegetarian Cooking Classes. We also organize Health Awareness Presentations during Camp Meeting.

Resources/Materials: We have rental videos and DVDs for Health presentations, Vegetarian Cooking Classes, and Breathe Free (a Stop Smoking Program). Ask for a Resource Catalog.
